Setting up your Netscape Nitro Web Accelerator is easy! Follow these 4 steps to download and configure your Netscape Nitro software in minutes:
Step 1: Download Netscape Nitro
- Go to http://nitro.netscape.ca/download to get started.
- Agree to the terms of service, and click the Netscape Nitro Accelerator software download link.
- You will be asked to Open or Save the Netscape Nitro Accelerator installation file.
- Save the file, called Nitro_installer.exe to your desktop.
Step 2: Install the Netscape Nitro Software
- After downloading the Netscape Nitro Accelerator installer onto your Desktop, you will see the following icon on your Desktop. Double-click on the icon to launch the installer.
- The installation program will walk you through the complete setup process. If you have installed Netscape Nitro Accelerator previously, you will be prompted to uninstall it prior to installing this new version.
Step 3: Reboot Your Computer
Once the installation is complete, you will be prompted to reboot your computer. Click on
OK.
Step 4: Enter Your Username and Password
Once your computer has restarted, you will be prompted for a username and password. Enter the same username and password you chose when you signed up for Netscape Nitro. For example, if you signed up for an ENO/Netscape account then enter your ENO username (eg. joe@eno.netscape.ca) and password into the appropriate fields or, if you signed up for a Netscape only account, type in your Netscape username (eg. joe@netscape.ca) and password. Click on
OK.
You're Done!
You will now see the Netscape Nitro icon in your system tray. Netscape Nitro Accelerator is now configured and sits idle in your system try until you open a web browser to surf the Internet.
If for any reason you want to stop Nitro after browsing, right click on the Netscape Nitro icon and select
Stop Nitro from the pop-up menu. If you want to close the application completely, select
Exit.
