Netscape Nitro technology uses several techniques to increase the speed of your web-surfing experience. Items that don't change on a web page, such as static text and pictures, are stored in an area on your computer called a cache.
The files that are stored are reduced in size through proprietary data compression techniques. When you revisit a web page, not all of the elements that make up the page need to be downloaded over the Internet. Only those elements that have changed from your previous visit are downloaded, and the page can be assembled in part from files retrieved from the cache.
Nitro also includes a
Pop-Up Blocker feature that allows you to block in-page advertisements while surfing.
